Welcome to CHI...

The Center for Health Improvement is a national, independent, nonprofit health policy and technical assistance organization dedicated to improving population health and encouraging healthy behaviors. Since its inception in 1995, CHI has used evidence-based research to help public, private, and nonprofit organizations strengthen their capacity to improve the quality and value of health care and enhance public health at the community level.
Toward that end, we:

  • Provide technical assistance across a broad range of content areas to public, private, and nonprofit organizations and groups.

  • Facilitate community, state, and national collaboratives working together to develop and adopt practices that improve health care and enhance public health.

  • Analyze policy and research to educate policymakers about health care and public health issues.

  • Offer customized advocacy training for organizations and groups, providing the skills and tools they need to effect change.

  • Conduct research to help organizations assess needs, understand public attitudes, and determine the effectiveness of policies once implemented.
